Day One
Sleep in! Café on the Green serves breakfast until 10 a.m., giving you plenty of time to ease into the day. Choose from a spectacular daily buffet – with everything from omelets made-to-order, waffles and smoked salmon – or order a signature dish from the menu.
Peruse the shops at the resort. The specialty boutique is packed full of unique items, including coveted Bijoux bags and Brighton shoes, sunglasses, watches and jewelry. Pick up a fun frock and don't forget to check out the swimsuits for sale.
Spend late morning and early afternoon at the pool. Lounge in the sun, take a refreshing swim and enjoy lunch poolside at the 100th Hole restaurant. Munch on shrimp cocktail, salad, fish, panini or burgers while sipping a sweet, frozen cocktail.
Renew body, mind and spirit at The Spa at Sawgrass. Indulge in a muscle-melting massage or invigorating hydrotherapy treatment; treat yourself to a manicure and take time to reflect in the beautifully landscaped relaxation area. Alternately, you can try the cardio and strength-training equipment in the Workout Studio or participate in a Pilates, yoga, aerobics or spinning class in the Movement Studio. The spa also has a shop that carries signature products, bathing suits and more.
If you like fine dining, you'll love The Augustine Grille. Dinner here is an adventure in creative cuisine. Choose from appetizers such as lobster Napoleon with lemon chervil butter and bigeye Hawaiian ahi tuna tartare with truffle ponzu. The restaurant specializes in stockyard beef from Chicago and also offers a savory selection of seafood, lamb, veal and poultry. Top off the evening with a nightcap and live entertainment at Champ's Lounge.
Day Two
Start slowly with a leisurely breakfast in-room. Room service is available from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. and presents an extensive array of menu items.
Don your swimsuit and head to the beach. The Sawgrass offers complimentary shuttles to its Cabana Beach Club, a private haven for guests and members only. Stroll the beach for seashells, splash in the ocean or take a dip in the heated pool. If you're feeling ambitious, rent a kayak, Hobie Wave, or boogie board; if not, beach chairs and umbrellas are also available for a nominal fee.
Enjoy the fresh catch of the day at the club's Sea Porch Bar & Grille. This nautical-themed oceanfront café also serves a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, platters and desserts.
Return to the resort and cross the street to Sawgrass Village. Here you'll find everything from fine cigars to designer boutiques, like the timeless favorite, Chico's. Offering upscale fashions for men and women, these boutiques will satisfy the most discerning shopper.
At night, Café on the Green becomes Café Italiano, an Italian bistro complete with dimmed lights, mandolin music and fresh regional Italian specialties. End with a delightfully decadent drink: a specialty martini, or better yet, a snifter of Courvoisier, a cognac as fine and rare as Ponte Vedra itself.
Another fantastic resort option is the world-famous Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. |
