PLENTY OF COURT ACTION AT FLORIDA'S TOP TENNIS PLAYGROUND; PONTE VEDRA BEACH AREA FEATURES WORLD-CLASS RESORT FACILITIES

Tennis players visiting Florida can combine tennis action and restful relaxation in acclaimed resort surroundings in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where tennis is pursued and played with a joyful passion at some of the finest tennis facilities in America.

For players and fans alike, the quality and quantity of the combined tennis resources in this posh northeastern Florida beachside community rank alongside those found anywhere else in the world.

Farther south, in St. Augustine, the historic city that is the site of the oldest, continuously occupied European settlement in the continental United States, tennis courts for more casual players are plentiful for visitors to the Old City.

Ponte Vedra Beach
In Ponte Vedra Beach, visitors will find two of the most acclaimed resorts and tennis facilities in the United States, all within five miles of each another. They include: the ATP Tour™ International Headquarters, where championship courts of every surface style are used by the world's top tennis professionals and amateurs to sharpen their games; Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, named in November 2000 as the third best tennis resort in America by Tennis Magazine; and Marriott at Sawgrass Resort with eight FAST-DRY™ clay courts.

The ATP Tour International Headquarters is the home of men's professional tennis and training center for many of the world's greatest players. The complex features: European red clay, grass and cushioned hard courts; a championship instructional staff; video analysis equipment; spa fitness facilities; and an elegant dining area.

Individual play at the ATP Tour International Headquarters can be arranged for guests staying at selected Ponte Vedra resorts. Camp packages for adults and juniors are offered throughout the year.

The posh Ponte Vedra Inn & Club has 15 Har-Tru clay courts, seven lighted for night play. A full range of private individual and group instruction programs are offered by the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club teaching staff. One of Florida's original resorts, the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club also offers 36 holes of golf, including the acclaimed Ocean Course, a new spa, full gymnasium and a wide, scenic beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean.

Marriott at Sawgrass, which serves as the Official Hotel of the ATP Tour, has eight FAST-DRY™ clay courts, four lighted for night play.

Visitors staying at Ponte Vedra Beach resorts can make arrangements to play at many of the private clubs in the area, including Marsh Landing Country Club, Oak Bridge Club, Plantation Country Club and Sawgrass Country Club.

St. Augustine
In the St. Augustine area, there are four public tennis facilities offering 24 courts, many lighted for evening play. In St. Augustine, public courts are located at Ron Parker Park, Treaty Park and on Castillo Drive. Four courts are available for public play at Lighthouse Park.
